Everybody knows Albert Einstein best for his groundbreaking physics theories, but he also made a major (although lesser-known) revolution in planetary science. From the mid-1800s over the early 1900s, numerous scientists were convinced that a mysterious planet "Vulcan" lied between Mercury and the sun. Einstein ultimately proved them all incorrect. National Geographic questioned Tom Levenson, author of "The Hunt For Vulcan: … And How Albert Einstein Destroyed A Planet, Discovered Relativity, And Deciphered The Universe," to get the entire backstory.
