Stephen Hawking: There Is No God and AI Will Overtake Humans In The Next 100 Years

Stephen Hawking has said that there is no God and that computers will overcome humans in next 100 years. The 73 year old turned down idea that there is a God in an discussion by stating that science is able to clarify the initiation of everything. When questioned by Spanish newspaper El Pais if scientists should ever believe in God, Hawking replied: "I use the word, God, in an impersonal sense, like Einstein did, for the laws of nature." After that he was asked: "Do you think humans would one day abandon religion and God?" to which he responded: "The laws of science are sufficient to explain the origin of the universe. It is not necessary to invoke God."

The motor neurone disease victim went on to say that the future of the humankind could be unwelcoming. He said that if extra-terrestrials visit Earth, they possibly will take over our planet. Hawking said: "Such advanced aliens would perhaps become nomads, looking to conquer and colonise whatever planets they can reach. To my mathematical brain, the numbers alone make thinking about aliens perfectly rational.

The real challenge is to work out what aliens might actually be like." On the topic of artificial intelligence (AI), he said: "Computers will overtake humans with AI in some next 100 years. When that happens, we need to make sure the computers have goals aligned with ours.

I think the survival of the human race will depend on its ability to find new homes elsewhere in the universe, because there's an increasing risk that a disaster will destroy Earth. I therefore want to raise public awareness about the importance of space flight. I have learnt not to look too far ahead, but to concentrate on the present. I have so much more I want to do."

Don’t be surprised (if you are) this isn't the first time that the theoretical physicist has criticized religion. Back in a June, 2015, in an interview, Hawking told Spanish newspaper El Mundo that science has taken us too far to have faith in in an all-powerful deity.

He said "Before we understand science, it is natural to believe that God created the universe. But now science offers a more convincing explanation. What I meant by 'we would know the mind of God' is, we would know everything that God would know, if there were a God, which there isn't. I'm an atheist,"

  1. To trust thy own brain is uter foolishness. If mr hawkins believe that millions of atom makes a matter and if god says mr hawkins is one atom of god and the god himself will he say he never existed he can say I am foolish Intelegence only begot artificial intelegence and mans existence is not to use it like how artificial intelegence will be used so as long it is not used you cannot measure the potential. the religion is like a black board when the teacher is an ignorant person it will look like absurdity to the brilliant and this is where the word tolerance will fit.So religion and god is going to be there in some form as long as man exist.like the life begun it may end the atoms formed together to make a matter and vice versa all new findings are good if it is for the good and if only you find a way to stop your end there is a point to worry about the end of the world or mankind

  2. In Sanadhana Dharma i.e., Hinduism the Ultimate is Absolute Intelligence ( Sat Chit Brahman). Another aspect is Perceptionary Intelligence, which humans possess. The cumulative Perceptionary Intelligence is we call God or "Eswara". The the Absolute Intelligence is all pervading and is beyond Sensory Perceptionary Intelligence. The " Dharma" or righteous path being preached in our Vedas is to go beyond the Perceptionary Intelligence and realise oneself as Absolute Intelligence. Where there is only "Shanthi" I.e., Peace and " Ananda" I.e., Bliss.

  6. the scientific world and great minds of academia are always talking about how to over come time and distance, to travel to the far reaches of the universe.
What if it already exists, it is happening millions of times a day both coming and going to this planet?
The miracle of life and death is time travel in itself, birth is self replicating and death is the transformation of a human back to energy, that goes where?
What makes people disbelieve in god is simple arrogance, intelligent people or people who think they are intelligent can not accept simple solutions to extremely deep thought provoking questions.
It's really quite simple , God is our superior being, our Alien life form, he created us and gave us the ability to replicate ourselves through a connection of energy and matter transfer " Sperm and the Egg" .
Gee weez mom is that time travel , maybe Johnny, all we can do is accept the miracle and nurture it.
Death on the other hand is time travel back to where we came from for reassignment or who knows what.
So this advanced Alien " God" created this world and sent his emissary "Jesus" too this newly created world with his instruction manual, " the Bible" for us to follow, all we have to do is follow 10 simple little rules and we will be fulfilling his wishes.
But we cannot even do that, it's just too simple, it has to be way more complicated than that!
I have read peoples thoughts on advanced aliens taking us over or not coming here because we are too violent or they just choose to associate with more like minded Aliens.
Maybe our space exploration will end up like the story in the bible about the tower being built to heaven and God putting a stop to that construction project, what will happen to us when we stray to far from home?
We have new arrivals everyday through time travel , we teach them to hate and be courupt and violent, too disbelieve in God. Some we kill because they are not the right sex , or something is perceived to be wrong with them, or we just kill them with abortions for a lot of bull shit reasons that makes us feel o.k. with what we are doing.
I'm just saying sometimes it's not real complicated and we can easily be lead astray by people with their own agendas.
It's real simple follow those ten simple rules and in the end you will be able to look back on your life with no regrets and have a shot at finding out what other wonders are after this life. Tell me again why you have to kill a baby that you do not want instead of allowing it a life with someone else in the world, just have it and turn your back .
There are plenty of people that will love that baby and care for it.

  7. Hawkins is one of many liberal minds that keep rambling about how much he knows and how little we know.
Back in the 60' and 70's lots of people followed the astrologers of the day and swore by them, if you make enough predictions, your bound to hit it right once in a while.
Everything is about power , money and control, always ask your self what 's in it for them, what are they looking for.
In stephen Hawkings case I would suspect it's to stay relevant and probably needs money because in this economy it's expensive to survive.
