Traverse Solar System at speed of light

Have you ever imagined what it would be like to go across the Solar System at nearly the speed of light? A recently-released enthusiastic video tries to reconstruct the out-of-this-world experience. The ultimate trip originates from the exterior of the sun, launching you outwards at 186,000 miles per second (300,000kps), passing though the orbiting planets around sun, the asteroid belt, until ultimately the sun looks as a pale glimmer among a sea of other stars. Riding Light, a 45-minute short movie by animator Alphonse Swinehart, succeeds in providing audiences some impression of the unbelievable enormity of our own Solar System. If the feeling of crossing the Solar System at the speed of light appears a bit too long, there is always the choice to fast forward. Enjoy this stunning video below:
